Description of Role
The Irrigation Technician will work closely with the assistant superintendent and superintendent to maintain the irrigation system. The successful candidate will also assist with some of the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course as required.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Report to Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent • Repair pipe leaks • Fix or replace sprinkler components • Level and edge sprinkler heads • Conduct a complete irrigation system inventory and update computer database • Assist with irrigation programming • Hand water and set up roller bases as needed for dry spots • Assist with fall blowout • Update sprinkler cap yardage • Maintain drainage system by flushing lines and cleaning catch basins and daylights • Assist with other projects or day-to-day maintenance of the course as required

The candidate must possess: • Positive attitude • Commitment to contribute to a team environment • Willingness to learn • Enjoy working in a physically active work environment • Valid Drivers License The ideal candidate will also possess: • Golf course maintenance experience • Experience maintaining an irrigation system • Turfgrass diploma/degree or currently enrolled in a program
