Located in Medicine Hat Alberta, Desert Blume Golf Club is an semi-private 18 hole championship links style golf course. Our goal at Desert Blume is to provide our members and guests with a premier golf experience through a commitment to values of professionalism, teamwork and courtesy.
Description of Role
Desert Blume Golf Club is looking to fill roll of Golf Course Mechanic. The ideal candidate should be organized, have a positive attitude and be driven for success. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all golf course equipment and golf cart fleet are working safe and efficiently for the staff, members and guests. The Golf Course Mechanic will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to make sure the highest golf course standards are achieved.
Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure that all equipment is running in a safe and efficient manner, obeying to OHS standards and golf course policies.
Diagnose and repair equipment in a time efficient manner with minimal downtime.
Cuts, fabricates, and welds to perform repairs to equipment, or build miscellaneous projects to benefit golf course.
Determines nature and extent of problems and whether repairs are made in house or by a vendor.
Manage parts inventory, and responsible for all parts, tools and supply ordering within allocated budget.
Performs and organizes a routine sharpening and related maintenance program on equipment.
Perform golf course duties when required (mowing, tarping, etc.).
Develops and implements preventive maintenance and repair schedules for vehicles and equipment.
Maintain maintenance and repair records, reports, cost analyses, and logs.
Maintain a safe, organized and clean work place.
Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with company policies, procedures and safety practices.
Performs routine service on our fleet of 72 golf carts and 2 beverage carts.
Snow removal and winter maintenance activities when required. .

Desired Experience

Formal mechanics education (turf technician certificate preferred but not required)
Valid Driver’s License
Reel grinding and setting mower heights is preferred but not mandatory.
Small gas engines and diesel, hydraulics, electrical repairs, agricultural, heavy duty.
Welding and fabrication.
