Silverwing Links Golf Club, a proud member of the Windmill Golf Group family, is a public golf club located in Calgary, AB. Designed by Ron Ehlert and located in close proximity to the Calgary International Airport, the 27 hole golf course provides an excellent challenge to members and public players alike.
Silverwing Links is seeking a driven and progressive industry leader to fill the position of Golf Course Superintendent. Reporting to the General Manager, the Superintendent will strive to accomplish the goals and vision set forth by the club and employ industry set best practices for golf course maintenance.
Silverwing plans to begin an aggressive renovation on several holes in 2019. The successful candidate will lead the maintenance team through this project, while maintaining and improving the conditions of the course on a day to day basis.
Hire, train and inspire a dedicated maintenance team and create a culture to share the overall commitment and vision of the club.
Oversee, monitor and adhere to the golf course operational and capital budgets while implementing strategic changes when necessary.
Create and adhere to golf course operational budgets while implementing strategic changes as needed.
Work closely with the General Manager and other senior team members to create culture, efficiency and desire to achieve strategic objectives.
Collaborate with 3rd party construction crews, if needed, to complete planned renovations and course improvements.
Source, negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and industry suppliers.
Minimum 5 years experience managing large teams of seasonal staff.
Experience in Project Management, golf course renovations and grow-in management.
Relevant education in agronomy or plant and soil sciences.
Strong work ethic and steadfast commitment to achieving goals.
Excellent communication,presentation and computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster a work environment where respect, motivation and teamwork flourish.
Personal professionalism,integrity and ongoing desire for continued education.
