The City of Calgary operates 7 Golf courses across 5 sites along with 3 full scale driving ranges. Located throughout the City of Calgary, our courses offer a variety of options for golfers of all skill levels.
Description of Role
As a Greenskeeper you will play an important role in the success of our Golf operations. As a part of the Turf management team you will aid the Superintendent and Assistant in the planning, implementation and evaluation of all programs and practices necessary to provide the golfing clientele with an excellent golf experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a Greenskeeper you will perform a variety of duties related to golf course operations. Primary duties include:
Evaluate turf health and general golf course needs.
Perform turf maintenance such as mowing greens, fertilizing, irrigating, scouting for pests and applying pesticides, evaluating plant growth and health.
Assist in the implementation of a planned program for golf course turf, pesticide application, horticulture, grounds maintenance, and staff and customer safety programs.
Support the clubhouse supervisors and volunteer coordinators in their day to day operation of golf courses.
Experience with Toro and Rainbird irrigation systems
Experience with John Deere and Toro equipment
Irrigation system repair and maintenance
Compensation and Perks
$31.93 - $34.86/ hour
38 hour work week (either 4 or 5 day work week)
