Membership Information

The Alberta Golf Superintendents Association is a progressive association dedicated to the professional development of golf superintendents in Alberta, and with the continuing support of the membership and the commitment shown by the Board of Directors, we are looking forward to another outstanding year.  We are always looking for new members and we encourage anyone interested to join and benefit from participation in the Association.

Membership in the AGSA is open to persons who meet one of the following qualifications:

To qualify for Class A membership, an applicant shall have, at the time of application of membership

  • Landscape Applicator's Certificate as certified by Alberta Environment.  
  • One year experience as a golf course superintendent and be employed in such capacity.  
  • A valid pesticide license.
Class A members shall have all the privileges of the Association.  There will be a maximum on one 'A' Member per 18 holes.

To qualify for Class B membership, an applicant shall have, at the time of application of membership:

  • The applicant shall have a Diploma in Turf Management, or in lieu of a Diploma, a minimum of two years experience as an Assistant Superintendent. 
  • A Landscape Applicator's Certificate as Certified by Alberta Environment. 
  • A valid pesticide license.

Class B members shall have all of the privileges of the Association, except that of holding office.

An individual who ceases to meet the qualifications of Membership as set out in Article 2 Sub 2. Application must be made to the Board of Directors who will be the sole judge of the applicant's acceptance.

  • Class C members shall require a Landscape Applicator's Certificate as certified by Alberta Environment.
  • A valid pesticide license.

Class C members shall have all of the privileges of the Association, except that of holding office.
